GIRONA UNDERWATER VISION AND ROBOTICS
After 20 years doing research, Girona Underwater Vision and Robotics team has become a benchmark in Europe for the design and construction of autonomous underwater vehicles, and the development of cutting edge software for the processing of visual and acoustic data.
Developing research underwater robots since 1995 has given us the knowledge and experience to make autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) which are both reliable and versatile as research platforms.
Our research on mapping techniques has lead to several processing workflows for the generation of 2D and 3D photomosaics, sonar mosaics and bathymetries of high quality, accuracy and resolution.
Taking part on research projects often requires the development of new equipments. Because of that, we are also experts on designing underwater technology for custom solutions.
